YWAM Nanaimo exists to form Kingdom communities that reveal God's glory to all people, through all cultures by empowering them to discover, pursue and create with God!
OUR STORY

We are a tribe of people from different walks of life that God has called together to pioneer a missional community that reveals King Jesus and His Kingdom. Each of us are passionately devoted to following Jesus, studying and applying his Word, and relying on the indwelling power of the Holy Spirit! As we prayed about where to start on Vancouver Island, we got the words "hub" and "gathering place" and we determined that Nanaimo would be where we would pioneer a new YWAM ministry on the west coast of Canada. We're eager to join in the work God has already been doing in Nanaimo! Our goals are ultimately to make disciples of Jesus that love God, follow His ways, and love people in Nanaimo, Vancouver Island and the nations!
OUR VISION

We want to empower 12-17 year olds to discover God and wildly pursue after His heart and a lifestyle of holiness.

We want to empower University students to dedicate their lives to advancing the Kingdom of God and reaching the unreached using their education.

We want to empower indigenous communities to celebrate and worship God through their cultural traditions and language.
OUR MISSION

Will be to serve alongside existing ministries in Nanaimo.

OUR KEY WORDS

Discover – God desires for His character and His will to be known to all nations. Discovering God is intrinsically connected to discovering a persons value, gifts, purpose and calling.

Pursue – God pursues people. As we pursue the matters of God's heart we begin to pursue the lost and unreached people in our world.

Create – Our desire is to create diverse, missional communities that reveal God's Kingdom. If people can truly see the Kingdom of God through His children and their devotion to Jesus then hope can be planted and faith matured.
About Nanaimo and Van Isle
Nanaimo is located in the Pacific North West of Canada. It is the second largest city on Vancouver Island with an approximate population of 90,500. There are many outdoor activities and a thriving arts community. The land has a rich cultural history and is home to the First Nations people called the Snuneymuxw.
Van Isle, short of Vancouver Island, is home to more than 770,000 people. The Island is renown for it's idyllic mountain and coastal landscapes. There is an abundance of outdoor activities ranging from surfing in Tofino, to snowboarding and skiing on Mount Washington Alpine Resort, to hiking along the West Coast Trail, and sea kayaking through the Discovery Islands.
